Documentary series Red Button Season 2, is a success on CBC Gem, resonating deeply with its fanbase and becoming the second-highest viewed unscripted show on the platform during its June 2019 launch period. Within a month of its release, the series reached over one million Canadians across multiple social media platforms, such as Facebook, Instagram and YouTube.
This season sees a whole new group of young documentary subjects turn the camera on themselves in short-form episodes that take viewers into their worlds in an effort to break down the misconceptions, prejudices or stereotypes they face day-to-day. Each episode focuses on one young person who gives an unflinchingly honest portrayal of their life.
“I am absolutely thrilled that this season of Red Button generated so much viewership and inspired people across the country,” said Robert Cohen, CEO and Executive Producer. “We are proud that this series gives a voice to marginalized Canadian youth who may not otherwise have the opportunity to share their experiences on such a large scale.”
Red Button has fostered a major national conversation about youth facing health challenges, and Media Headquarters is honoured to take part in this important discussion.
